“From attending the briefing by Blackburn with Darwen about this new and exciting approach to development I was keen that Thera North be accepted onto the first programme.

Within Thera North we felt we had a good grounding around the personalisation agenda and had been working for some time looking to modify our working processes to meet the new challenges that faced us. However we were eager to learn and share with like minded people.

The learning set was very mixed both in the type of organisation from single care homes for older people to multi million pound charities through to the extent of the knowledge and preparation each organisation had reached around the personalisation agenda. This in itself, at first, posed some challenges until the group found it’s feet and developed the appreciation that every one had something to offer and we could all benefit from learning about the successes and challenges that we had all had faced and continued to face.

The programme itself gave good solid knowledge and gave the participants a range of tools to help develop their business in each of the target areas. In addition to the learning for the participants the tools are presented in an easy use way that enables participants to share the skill development opportunities within their organisations.
It did not just provide the tools it also gave space for taking stock, reflection and planning for each organisation present to look at their own strategic direction and business processes. Participation in the events also offered that key benefit of being able to discuss both concerns and ideas in a safe non judgemental environment where there was a strong feeling of a shared value base where the participating organisations wanted to get it right with the people they supported.

Apart from that it was also fun, at times thought provoking, it encouraged self scrutiny and promoted a strong business model to process our aspirations.

It certainly comes with a highly recommended seal of approval from Thera North”
